Proverbs 31:20 “She opens her hand to the poor, yes, she reaches out her filled hands to the needy (whether in body, mind or spirit).”
Lesson- We must be filled up in order to pour into others. We must be filled up by God’s spirit before we try to pour into others. You can’t pour from an empty cup so make sure you’re running to the water that never runs dry (John 4:13-14 Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again; 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.”)
Tip for Men- Be careful not to over work yourself and become so outward focused that you forget to refill your cup so to speak so the Lord can continue to use you.
Tip for Women- We see in the verse that the Proverbs 31 woman reached out her filled hands to the needy, she gave from what she had not giving her scraps but giving in full. When we care for those less fortunate and those around us not in or from our families, give willingly from what you have. That allows for cheerful giving, don’t give from your scraps or what you wouldn’t even want yourself. Always give your best!
