"Charm is Deceptive" Proverbs 31:30-31 * Finale Show Notes*

Proverbs 31:30-31 “Charm and grace are deceptive, and beauty is vain (because it is not lasting) but a woman who reverently and worshipfully fears the Lord, she shall be praised! Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise her in the gates (of the city)! “(Phil. 4:8)

We’ve reached the 31st and last verse which means this series has come to an end! Thank you all for sticking with me throughout this series, I hoped you’ve enjoyed and gotten something out of each episode. I pray you put them into practice and gained a deeper understanding. as well and if you can, please leave a rating and review wherever you listen to this podcast! I would appreciate it. I’ve had a blast this season recording these episodes, they’ve been both encouraging to me as well as convicting! But with all that said there will be a brief hiatus since the season is over but stay subscribed and follow the IG page for any news and updates - Love all of you guys! I hope you stay rooted in His love and continue growing in Him. Let’s get into today’s lesson!

Last Lesson- I thought of 2 verses when I was reading --- 2 Cor. 4:18 says So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” I was reminded of this verse as well---- 1 Samuel 16:7 “But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” as I read because we can see in these 2 verses, that what truly matters is our heart posture which can’t be seen on the outside. The verse said charm and beauty is not lasting! We know how there can be beautiful people with ugly attitudes or who are arrogant and that ends up making them ugly. One of my pastors said something during his sermon a few weeks ago, he said “gravity is undefeated” sooner or later things will start to drop, drag and droop you know! And God forbid but if any of us were to get into some sort of accident that alters our appearance then what would we do? We can’t gain our confidence from outward and fleeting things. Let’s root ourselves in the Lord, fear Him so that we can walk uprightly.

Last Tip for Men- Are you too outwardly focused? Be submitted and grounded in the Lord, don’t be outwardly focused but instead let Him guide your path instead of being driven by what looks good. Remember that looks can be deceiving but when you fear God and look to Him, He will not lead you astray.

Last Tip for Women- Your heart posture matters. Especially as a wife when you’re called to be submitted to another human in your husband (and for us singles we’re called to be submitted to God!) So where is your heart? Are you focused on yourself? On your desires and goals? On looking like a trophy wife? Fear God and walk in your purpose, don’t let humility be far from you.

Peace.
