Proverbs 31:12 “She comforts, encourages and does him only good as long as there is life within her.”
Lesson: So the Bible says in Philippians 2:4 that we should look out for the interest of others not only ourselves. So this verse makes me think, how are we or will do that? As a wife, as a husband, as a friend and the many roles we each have we should think how we can look out for the interests of those around us so that we can serve people better. The woman King Lemur’s mother talks about is a woman who serves him well because she cares and cares about his person. She is there for him when he needs her for encouragement as a comforter when he’s doubting or feeling low, to be an asset and not a liability in his life. So I want us to think today about how we can look to the interests of those around us in order to serve the people in our lives better.
Tip for Men- Seek the Lord when pursuing any relationship or looking for a wife. Make sure you are certain of a woman’s intentions towards you, and that is definitely something to look to. Is the person you’re with or pursuing genuinely interested in you or taking time to be interested in things you like or is she just doing it to get something out of it? You want a woman who is genuine and who will be there for you, someone who will be able to handle the parts of you not many get to see so also be the judge of how comfortable you feel in truly expressing yourself to her which also goes back to verse 11 and being able to trust her.
Tip for Women- Do you really want to help or do you just want to be married? As women we like the idea and image we conjure of being married but we must go back to Genesis and see that God brought Eve to Adam because He said it wasn’t good for man to be alone and said He would create a helper suitable for him. We have to be helpers in our relationship and marriages, are you ready to really help? Your spouse is your purpose partner, God has a plan for the both of you to carry out individually but also together. So are you ready to help your purpose partner step into a new level or what God has called them to do? Or are you just infatuated with the idea of being in a relationship with someone?
